{GMG Advent Study}

Day 4

The Perfect One came into our imperfect, broken world. A world that desperately needed the hope He extends to each and every one of us regardless of our pasts, our age, our race, or our materials possessions. He came to rescue us all. If you find yourself questioning God’s love, meditate on this truth. He came to rescue. If He did not love, He would not have rescued. If He did not love, He would not have died.

So lets embrace the hope Christ’s birth ushers into our lives this Christmas season. The gift of hope for a better tomorrow. The gift of His constant presence.
Though we may not always understand how He works or why He allows some things and not others, be encouraged from today’s verse:

-Jeremiah 33:14-15-

“The days are coming,’ declares The Lord, ‘when I will fulfill the gracious promise I made to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.”

“In those days and at that time

I will make a righteous Branch sprout from David’s line;

he will do what is just and right in the land.”

God never forgets His promises. Though it may take time to see them come to fruition, don’t ever forget God is a promise keeper. He does what He says He will do, in His timing and in His own special way. Jesus is the righteous branch that sprouted from David’s line and His arrival was worth the wait.

Day 5 Reading

“The sun shall no longer be your light by day, Nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory. Your sun shall no longer go down, Nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For the Lord will be your everlasting light, And the days of your mourning shall be ended. (Isaiah 60:19, 20 NKJV)

There is so much hope to be found because of the Lord. He makes good on His promises... always.

One day we will behold the glory of the Everlasting One. The joy of Heaven, the joy of the presence of Almighty God will far surpass any fleeting happiness we experience in this life. It will also surpass even greater the sorrows of this life... the trials... the storms.

Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!
