"free to love and serve"

here are some notes I took when listening to the podcast of Ed Underwood's sermon last Sunday at Church of the Door.

Thoughts from a Lady:
how refreshing a reminder that as Christians, our freedom in Christ is not a free pass to do what we want, when we want and without regard for anyone else. God's grace and the power of the Holy Spirit working in our lives gives us the liberty and ability to live as Christ lived and love as He loves. we are free IN HIM! and so we should walk and live according to HIS ways... and not our own nor the world's.

"Free to Love and Serve"

Galatians 5:1-6:10

Grace is a SAFE place, not a SOFT place.
Grace frees us to treat others the way Christ would treat them
Express your faith through love by caring and loving others!
Live free to love and serve others !!
Preoccupy yourself with how you can love others better! And serving them selflessly!
You can either do what is for you or do what is for others... The Spirit will empower you to do the selfless
James 1:25
But the one who peers into the perfect law of liberty and fixes his attention there, and does not become a forgetful listener but one who lives it out – he will be blessed in what he does. (James 1:25 NET)

Pure and undefiled religion before God the Father is this: to care for orphans and widows in their misfortune and to keep oneself unstained by the world. (James 1:27 NET)

The Holy Spirit will always move us to serve others and express our faith through love.

The immature demand grace from others. The mature GIVE grace to others.
Give up your rights for the sake of the Gospel.
Don't allow the self centered world to stain us. Don't misuse your liberty in Christ.
