fearless love.

Here is an excerpt from yesterday's post by Ed Underwood, Senior Pastor at Church of the Open Door. I get these updates every morning in my inbox, and reading them has been an encouragement to me and those I've shared them with. Click here to read the post in its entirety.

Trust or Fear?

Every relationship of life either deepens with trust or diminishes with fear. Intimacy between Jesus and His people, husband and wife, parent and child, or friend and friend—all depend on fearless love. [...]

Questions: [...] Have you trusted His love enough to receive eternal life? Have you believed in Jesus as your Savior? [...]

Friend, you will never know the joy of intimacy with Christ and others until you find the courage to risk receiving love. Or better yet, until you ask the Lord Jesus for the courage to trust Him and others more.

"There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love" (1 John 4:18).

Commentary by a Lady

The theme of fearless love resonates with me in so many ways. Trusting fearlessly in Jesus' love to save us from the bondage of sin is the most important decision a human being can make. It is literally a matter of life and death... eternal life and eternal death.

After that is a life of hope. It's not always rosy, but there is always hope because your trust is in mankind's Savior, Jesus Christ.

Colossians 1:15-17
"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.  And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist."

Don't be afraid to put your trust in the God of this universe who loves you... because when you do, you'll find that He is exclusively everything you need.
